Kayla Cannon. RN.
Kayla Cannon MSN, RNC-OB, has always had a passion for the miracle of life for as long as she can remember. Before attending nursing school, she knew her future would be in obstetrics and women’s health. In 2012, she received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University. After graduation, she was offered a nursing position on labor and delivery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she worked alongside baby+co. midwife, Stephanie Godfrey. Within five years of working with The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Kayla went from a new graduate nurse, to an expert charge nurse and received certifications in Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and Inpatient Obstetrics. In 2017, Kayla graduated with a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Kayla relocated to Charlotte in May 2017, to be with her husband, Samuel, who is pursuing his dream as a Brewer. Kayla currently works for Carolinas HealthCare Systems NorthEast as a Clinical Supervisor on labor and delivery. She decided to join baby+co. in July of 2017 to see a more natural side of birth, outside of the hospital, and is very excited to empower women on their journey to motherhood.
When Kayla is not at the hospital or birthing center, she loves spending time enjoying the city of Charlotte, checking out new restaurants, breweries, and bike riding.
