Anayah Sangodele-Ayoka. CNM.
Anayah Sangodele-Ayoka, CNM, graduated from Yale University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. In addition to working with clients during pregnancy and birth, her training included primary care as well as well-woman and gynecological care. Prior to beginning nurse-midwifery school, Anayah served families as a doula and childbirth educator.
In another life before midwifery, Anayah earned a Master’s of Science in Education and taught high school in Brooklyn, New York. During her work with teenage girls, she discovered a passion for women’s health and empowerment that ultimately set her on a path to midwifery school. Anayah was born into out-of-hospital birth, having been born at home in Chicago. She is very excited to be part of this wave in making out of hospital birth a beautiful and viable option to all kinds of families. Anayah is also a national breastfeeding, women’s health advocate and GirlTrekker. She’s new to Charlotte and loves having adventures around the area with her husband and two children.
